What makes Colorado Canopies better?

Most canopy manufacturers have multiple lines of canopies that they sell. These canopies range from disposable units (like those that can be purchased at warehouse clubs for as low as $99.00), to the commercial lines of canopies similar to those manufactured and sold by us. There are major differences between canopy companies. From using steel to aluminum and what thickness of aluminum, it can get very confusing. Colorado Canopies uses a thicker aluminum tubing that makes it stronger than most canopies on the market. We help you design and brand your canopy at no additional charge. We use high end material for all of our canopies and signage and we treat every client as if they are our only client. We offer around the clock service and try to answer every question or comment within a few hours. Our dedication and customer service plus our wide range of commercial products is what makes Colorado Canopies better.

How do I clean my canopy?

Proper cleaning and storage of your tent will help prolong its life. Before storing your canopy, place the top on the frame at the lowest setting  and inspect it. Look for any damage, stains, holes or mildew.

Once you have inspected your canopy, clean all dust and dirt marks with a sponge or soft brush, mild soap, and warm water. Rinse with a clean wet sponge. Allow the tent to dry thoroughly before folding and storing. Do not power wash your top or put in a washing machine.

What is the life expectancy of a canopy?

It is important to choose the correct canopy for the application, since canopy construction varies by brand and style. A canopy that is set up only a few months a year will have a longer life expectancy than a canopy that is used year round and set up & torn down every weekend. A seasonal use canopy frame that is cared for properly can last 10+ years with no major issues.

Tent fabric is most prone to damage during handling, transportation, setup and tear down. Proper handling combined with good setup and tear down practices such as folding and storing fabric properly, never putting the fabric away wet, cleaning and maintaining the top and taking the tent down prior to severe weather will prolong the canopies life.

Canopy tops usually get worn and dirty before they are worn out. They may lose their luster or accumulate staining while still being able to provide shelter from the elements. Cleaning, Mold Prevention Treatment and Water Resistant Treatment (found at local camping stores) help to maintain the look of the tent fabric.

Our canopies and tents are constructed from high quality fabric. However, the fabric and frame systems that support the tent (typically) will not withstand the forces of inclement weather, such as hurricanes, tornadoes, or heavy snow storms. When possible, it is recommended that your canopy be taken down prior to severe weather.

What is the difference between Vector and Raster Files?

Vector: Adobe ILLUSTRATOR CS5 or earlier versions: .AI, .EPS, or print ready .PDF files.

Raster: Adobe PHOTOSHOP CS5 or earlier versions: .PSD, .TIFF, High res. .JPG or print ready .PDF files.

The 2 types of digital artwork we work with are raster art or vector art. Raster Art includes digital photos as well as designs made in PHOTOSHOP, and it’s made up of defined pixels (tiny dots of color). Because there’s a fixed number of pixels in the artwork, it cannot be enlarged without becoming pixilated blurry. Vector Art includes designs made in ILLUSTRATOR as well as some PDF documents, and it’s made up of lines and shapes defined by equations. It’s created mathematically, so it can be enlarged endlessly without any degradation.

What type of payments do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. We accept payment by check, however this process takes much longer than a credit card transaction. Once we receive the order it will be submitted but remain “On Hold” until the check clears the bank. After the check has cleared, the standard turnaround time will apply.

The wind or rain broke my frame, is this covered under warranty?

No. We cannot guarantee against any type of weather-related incidents. We recommend that each leg of the canopy be secured using the canopy stakes provided, but in the event of unstable weather, we advise that you take the canopy down to prevent any damage. Every component of the frame is easily replaceable. For non-warranty repairs, you will save time and money by ordering the parts and repairing it yourself.
